New Customs
What
is a "kit bike"?
Sometimes referred to as "bikes-in-a-box",
kit bikes are pre-packaged motorcycle designs engineered
and tested by a bike manufacturer. They are then shipped
out unassembled and unpainted so a builder can custom
paint and assemble them to a particular need or want.
This is not a new concept. Many builders have used
this method for years, even though not all advertise
it. It also doesn't mean that your bike won't be unique.
There are many models available, with countless options,
to make this bike truly your own.
What are the benefits of a kit-based
custom?
Improved Safety, Reliabilty and Performance
We use only kit bikes from large, reputable specialty
manufacturers. Therefore, the design you get has
been professionally engineered and thoroughly field-tested
prior to its release to the public. In other words,
you are not playing "test pilot" on an
original design. Additionally, these bikes meet all
Federal Government compliances including current
EPA standards.
Lower Price $$$$$$
Because kit-bikes are pre-packaged, the final price
to you is much lower than a so called "one-off"
custom. Our finished custom package generally ranges
from $17-29,000. Compare that to $40,000 and up for
most custom bikes. Since our packages use the same
top name components as these other customs (ie. motors,
trannys, frame, wheels, etc.), they will stand up
to most side-by-side comparisons.
Easier to Title, Register and Insure
Since our bikes come with Titles (or MSO's) and
VIN's from national manufacturers, they are more
readily accepted at your local DMV. Furthermore,
many insurance companies recognize kit bikes and
differentiate them from "one-offs", making
them easier, and less expensive to insure.
Faster Turnaround on "Built-For" Bikes
If you want us to build a bike for you, a kit bike
can provide a faster delivery time since they are
pre-packaged for shipment and go together more quickly.
Complete Bike Factory Warranty
Our new customs come with a full factory warranty
covering the entire bike. This means you don't have
to chase down individual component manufacturers,
or get in the middle of a finger pointing contest,
if you have an issue.
